Site Supervisor – Commercial Construction

Location: Hervey Bay, QLD
Employment Type: 6-month project, with potential for ongoing work
Rate:$65–$75 per hour or subcontractor arrangement, depending on experience

About the Role

Siteforce Recruitment is seeking an experienced, hands-on Site Supervisor to join a locally owned, award-winning construction company delivering commercial construction projects across Queensland. This role will oversee a major project in Hervey Bay, with potential opportunities for further work across the Wide Bay region and Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily construction site operations and coordinate site activities.

• Supervise construction teams and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

• Monitor project progress, schedules and quality standards.

• Interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.

• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, site safety procedures and relevant building standards.

• Conduct site inspections and identify and address safety hazards.

• Coordinate inspections, quality checks and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

• Maintain accurate site diaries, attendance records and project documentation.

• Liaise with project managers, subcontractors and client representatives.

• Identify and resolve site issues proactively to support project delivery.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years' experience as a Site Supervisor or Project Manager.

• Demonstrated experience delivering commercial construction projects in Australia.

• Current QBCC Site Supervisor Licence.

• Certificate III in Carpentry and/or relevant project management experience.

• Current First Aid and CPR certifications.

• Valid White Card (Construction Induction).

• Strong understanding of WHS, site compliance and construction quality requirements.

• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Project Details and Benefits

• Initial six-month commercial construction project.

• Potential for further projects across the Wide Bay region and Queensland.

• Up to 50–60 hours per week, depending on roster and project requirements.

• Rate of $65–$75 per hour or subcontractor arrangement, depending on experience.

• Company vehicle and fuel card allowance.

• Company iPad or laptop, as required.

• Five high-visibility work shirts.

• $80 monthly phone allowance for work-related use of a personal phone.

Location and Eligibility

The role is based onsite in Hervey Bay, Queensland. Local candidates are preferred. Applicants must be willing to relocate at their own expense if required and be based in Hervey Bay for the project.
